Fang Zhiyuan's research direction

His research interests are the political and institutional history of the Ming Dynasty and the social and economic history of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. He presided over many projects such as the National Social Science Fund and the Social Science Planning of Jiangxi Province. His major works include A General History of China's Political System. Volume of Ming Dynasty (co-author), Population Mobility and Urban and Rural Commodity Economy in Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi during Ming and Qing Dynasties, Literature of Cities and Citizens in Ming Dynasty, State Power Structure and Operation Mechanism in Ming Dynasty (supported by Huaxia Talent Fund). He studied in China. Undertaking the compilation project of National History of Qing Dynasty and the project supported by Huaxia Cai Ying Fund (completed). Responsible for the national social science fund project "The Formation of Pluralistic Society in Ming Dynasty and National Response" and the project "Jiangxi Merchants and Jiangxi Immigrants Research" entrusted by Jiangxi Provincial Government.
