Can you tell me the origin of Cui's surname?
Problem description:
I won't say anything. Let the experts who know do their best.
Analysis:
First, the origin of Cui:
In the big family of the Chinese nation, surnames come from many sources. Among them, the origin of Cui Shi is due to the fact that ancestors descended to the country and took the city as their surname.
I have consulted Yuanhe's surname compilation, The Book of the New Tang Dynasty and the Prime Minister's genealogy table. "Cui Shi is from Jiang. Ji Zi, his second son, asked Guo Shuyi to eat in Cui, so he became Cui Shi, and Cui Shi City was located in the northwest of East Chaoyang County, Jinan.
Bai Juyi, a famous poet in the Tang Dynasty, wrote an epitaph for Cui Gong, the secretary of secretariat of history, in which he said: "The public is taboo and the words are dark, which originated from Emperor Yan, and later generations Sun Mubo (son of Ji Zi) was sealed in Cui, hence the name".
About 1 1 century BC, after Zhou Wuwang destroyed the Shang Dynasty, he made Jiang Shang (Ziya) the monarch of Qi, Du Yingqiu was in the north of Linzi, Shandong Province, and Jiang Shang was the founding monarch of Qi, known as Jiang Taigong in history. There was a son named Ji, who was an important official in the imperial court and a minister in charge of life. After his death, posthumous title became a public official.
Qi Dinggong had a younger son, Ji Zi, who should have succeeded to the throne of Qi, perhaps because he was generous and uncontested. Perhaps it is tired of the world of disputes; Perhaps they are afraid of fighting with each other, fighting for power and profit, and taking on the crime of brothers turning against each other, killing each other, killing each other and killing their brothers; Jiang gave up the position of King of Qi to his younger brother (that is, Uncle B), and he was willing to take a place called Cui as a food city and live an idyllic life. Cui Yi, northwest of Chaoyang, is recorded as Dongcui City in Jinan, Shandong Province.
Since then, Jiang changed his surname to Cui, the ancestor of Cui Shi.
Cui has a history of more than 3000 years.
Second, where is Cui Shi City today?
According to the research of Zhangqiu's historical evolution, during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, from 770 BC to 22 BC1year, "Cui Yi was stationed in Tucheng, which belonged to Qi State", and from the Qin Dynasty to the Western Han Dynasty, Zhangqiu area "was located in Chaoyang County, which was based on the site of Wei Wangcheng and belonged to Jinan County" (Jinan County was stationed in Dongping Lingcheng in the Western Han Dynasty).
After the Western Han Dynasty, Chaoyang City belonged to the State of Lu. During the Three Kingdoms period (AD 220-265), it belonged to Jinan. The Western Jin Dynasty (AD 265-3 16) belonged to Le 'anguo. Sui Dynasty belonged to Qi County.
At the end of Sui Dynasty, Chaoyang County was dissolved and merged into Zhangqiu.
From beginning to end, Cui Yi was called Cui Shi City, because Cui ji zi, the ancestor of Cui Shi, took the food city as his surname. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Cui Yi lived in Tucheng.
Look up "Zhangqiu Place Names" "Tucheng, formerly known as Cui Shi City." "Zhangqiu County Records" contains: "Cui surname city is located 70 miles northwest of the county town (old Zhangqiu City), on the bank of Daqing River (now the Yellow River, which has been in Xianfeng for five years, that is, 1855, the Yellow River is in Yanglan, Henan Province, and now the copper tile box in Lankao has burst, so it is called Tucheng." "Water Classic Note" says: "Luoshui passes through the south of Northeast County and the north of Northeast Cui Shi." Press: "Daqing River saves water, which comes from the southwest, passes through the south gate, and goes around the city and northeast. On it is Zhangqiu boundary, which is called Tucheng and also the city of Cui Shi."
Today's Tucheng is located 5 kilometers southwest of Huanghe Township, Zhangqiu City (county-level city) under the jurisdiction of Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province. The village is near the Yellow River levee in the west, and there are 40 families in Pinzi settlement. This is Cui's birthplace.
Third, the root of Tucheng:
The author's surname is Cui and his ancestral home is Nanyu Village, Chen Zhuang Town, Lijin County, Shandong Province. He has lived in Jinan since childhood and is now nearly 60 years old. I know from my family that my ancestor Cui Pu immigrated to Shandong from Sophora japonica in Hongdong, Shanxi Province in the second year of Hongwu in the early Ming Dynasty, more than 600 years ago, and I have been 18 generations.
Over the years, I know little about the historical development of my surname. After some investigation and textual research, I learned that Tucheng Village, which is located in the municipal area where I live, is actually the birthplace of our Cui Shi family. I visited the ancient city of Cui Shi with keen interest in root-seeking.
On a Sunday in late autumn of 2003, I drove not far west from Jinan Yao Qiang Airport, onto the airport road and onto the Yellow River Dam Highway. It's only over ten kilometers from the airport to the Yellow River Dam. Go north along the dam road (this section of the Yellow River runs north and south), and on the left is the Yellow River water with a wide river surface. The dam beside the water is covered with willows. The road on the dam is flat and curved, which shows that it is a provincial road extending far away. When it is flat, it extends with the riverbed of the Yellow River. So the steering wheel in your hand must be constantly corrected. On the right side of the dam, there are green wheat fields everywhere. Occasionally, there are sheep on the dam slope, which are green and white, and the scenery is pleasant. After walking a few miles, I saw a building with ceramic tiles and glazed tiles standing on the left side of the dam. I stopped to have a look: Tuchengzi Yellow River Diversion Gate. To the east of the sluice is the water diversion place for diverting water from the Yellow River. From here, the water on the upper dike of the Yellow River divides into three streams, which slowly flow to the east, north and south and pour into farmland. This is a park with a large lawn and a dense cluster of willows and phoenix trees on the lawn. Starting from the dam, along the steps of 100, there is a granite stone tablet engraved with the inscription "Tuchengzi Yellow River Diversion Gate", and the process of building the gate is introduced. This is especially beautiful in summer. Stone tables and benches under green trees are naturally good places for local villagers to enjoy the cool.
Tucheng village passes through the park more than 100 steps. There is a winding canal and a big pond outside the village. The lotus leaf in the pond has withered, and the lotus root below has not been harvested. The women are washing clothes by the pond. What an idyllic landscape and a treasure trove of geomantic omen.
I went into Tucheng village, where there were thirty or forty families, and the yard of the small village house was very neat. I talked to several elderly farmers, who introduced me to the history of this village. But none of them know that this is the site of the ancient city of Cui Shi, and it is no wonder that it has been 3,000 years.
There is no Cui family in the village. I wandered around the village, trying to experience the scene where Cui Shi's ancestors farmed and lived for thousands of years ... After a long time, I returned to Bashang and saw the quiet Tucheng village and the Yellow River water flowing into the sea, as if I saw the Cui Shi family, which accounts for 3% of China's population, and created the splendid history and culture of the Chinese nation with their diligence and wisdom.
