Syria is a country located in western Asia and on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

Syria is located in the west of the Asian continent, bordering Turkey to the north, Iraq to the east, Jordan to the south, Lebanon and Palestine (Israel) to the southwest, and Cyprus across the Mediterranean to the west. The total area is 185,180 square kilometers (including the Golan Heights).

Syria is a middle-income country located in the center of the Middle East, which is rich in oil and natural gas in the world. Its main economic sources are agriculture, petroleum, processing industry and tourism. The oil is facing depletion and the population has grown too much.
