Passport and nationality
Italy recognizes dual nationality, and the acquisition of Italian nationality mainly adopts the blood system. At present, the Italian government is revising the nationality law to relax the restrictions on foreign immigrants applying for Italian nationality.
1. Automatic acquisition of Italian nationality, including: the father or mother has Italian nationality; Born in Italy, but parents are unknown or stateless; Born in Italy, both parents are foreigners, but at least one of them is concerned about legal continuous residence for 5 years; Minor children adopted by Italian citizens, etc.
2. Foreigners acquire Italian nationality through voluntary declaration:
If you are a descendant of an Italian citizen (within two generations), you must meet one of the following conditions: military service; Become a national civil servant; Born in Italy and concerned about legal residence until adulthood (18 years old).
(2) To obtain nationality by marrying an Italian, all the following conditions must be met: having lived in Italy for 2 years or having been married for 3 years; No criminal record; There is no threat to national security.
(3) To obtain nationality, all the following conditions must be met: (1) legal residence for 5 years; Adequate income; No criminal record; If the country of origin stipulates, it is necessary to give up the original nationality. In this case, it is necessary to provide complicated supporting documents to review the applicant's integration degree, and the procedures are complicated and the application time is long.
China does not recognize dual citizenship. According to the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China, as long as foreign nationality is acquired, China nationality will be automatically renounced. One or both parents are citizens of China, and I was born in a foreign country and have China nationality; However, if one or both parents are citizens of China and have settled in a foreign country, they will have foreign nationality at birth, but will not have China nationality. Therefore, if the baby becomes an Italian citizen, it cannot become a China citizen and registered permanent residence.
