The foundation bearing capacity of the Yellow River Delta varies greatly in different positions and horizons, ranging from less than 80kPa to more than 300kPa. The bearing capacity of natural foundation refers to the bearing capacity of the first layer or the second layer of foundation soil from the surface (when the thickness of the first layer is less than 3m and the bearing capacity of the second layer of foundation soil is higher than that of the first layer, the bearing capacity data of the second layer shall be taken). The bearing capacity of natural foundation in this area can be divided into four grades (Table 2- 10), and its distribution and change law are closely related to landform units (Figure 2-7).

1. Distribution of low bearing capacity area (FK < 80 kPa)

1) is distributed in the engineering geological area of modern Yellow River Delta in a strip shape. Such as the southwest of Hutan Township in Lijin County-the south of Yihe Town in Hekou District, the north of gutang Reservoir-Bohai Farm in the southeast of Hekou, and the north of modern Yellow River estuary. Most of the above areas landed after 1855, and located in coastal lowlands or depressions, with poor drainage conditions and low degree of self-weight consolidation.

2) It is distributed in small pieces in the plain area of the ancient Yellow River Delta. Such as the southern part of Shengli Township in Dongying District and the southern part of Wangzhuang Township in Lijin County.

2. Distribution of low bearing capacity area (80≤FK < 100 kPa)

1) is distributed along the coastline with different widths.

2) It is distributed along the edge, front and depression of the main flood zone of the Yellow River. Such as Dazhao Township in Lijin County-Hutan-Luo Zhen-Hekou District, Jixian Township-Bohai Farm General Farm, north of Gubei Reservoir, Liuqian Township in Lijin County-Xicheng in Dongying District, Longju Township in Dongying District-Xifan Township.

3. Distribution of medium bearing capacity area (100 kPa≤FK < 120 kPa)

1) is distributed at the top of crevasse fan and gentle slope area. Such as the Southern Song Dynasty-Northern Song Dynasty-Mingji in Lijin County, Longju Township-You Guo Township-Liuhu Town-Dingzhuang Township in Guangrao County and Shengtuo Township-Gaogai Township in Dongying District.

2) It is distributed near the apex of the modern Yellow River Delta. Such as Ninghai Township-Tinghe Township and Ninghai Township-Fuwo Township.

3) It is distributed in the north and east of the modern Yellow River Delta. Such as Xinhu-Diaokou Township in Hekou District, Gudong Reservoir-No.5 Pile, Jianlin Township-Gudong Reservoir in Kenli County and Jianlin-Victoria Song Township.

4. Regional distribution with high bearing capacity (FK >120kPa)

1) is distributed in the south of the ancient Yellow River Delta. Such as Niuzhuang-Chenguan-Xiaoqing River area.

2) It is distributed in the piedmont alluvial-diluvial plain south of Xiaoqing River.

3) Scattered in areas with higher terrain in the Yellow River Delta plain in modern times.
