Reservoir benefit of Dongwushi Reservoir

The reservoir is responsible for the production and domestic water of Fuyang River Irrigation District, 8 large enterprises in Handan City and 500,000 urban population. From 1962 to 2003, the total water supply of the reservoir was1221400 million cubic meters, including 3.789 billion cubic meters of industrial water supply and 8.425 billion cubic meters of agricultural water supply. The power station started to generate electricity from 1975, and by 200 3, the cumulative power generation was 286 million kWh.

The Fuyang River irrigation area downstream of the reservoir has been irrigated for more than 500 years. Before the founding of New China, due to the lack of unified management, only more than 6,000 hectares of land could be irrigated. After the establishment of New China, especially after the completion of the reservoir, Yuefeng Canal was used to divert water from Dongwushi Reservoir, which greatly alleviated the water shortage in the irrigation area and ensured the water consumption of 43,000 hectares of farmland in Fuyang River irrigation area. There are famous agricultural products at home and abroad in the irrigation area, such as Matou rice, Yongnian garlic and Jize pepper.

The reservoir involved about 20 natural villages in Cixian and Fengfeng mining areas 16800 people, flooded cultivated land 1033.8 hectares, and demolished 23493 houses. After the completion of the library, the immigrants were properly placed. By the year 2000, 27 agricultural wells will be drilled, 38 kilometers of impervious canals will be built, 22 pumping stations, 2 ponds and dams (with a water storage capacity of 60,000 cubic meters) and 20 hectares of orchards will be built. At present, the average grain yield of immigrant villages is 500 kilograms per mu. At the same time, the state also gives preferential policies in electricity consumption, diet and education. The reservoir management office and the immigrants around the reservoir area have also developed cage fish culture by using the water surface, which has promoted the development of the local economy.

500 meters east of Dongwushi Reservoir, there is a village called East wushi village, named after the Ming Emperor Wei Bing. Yiquan Lake Scenic Area is also located on the bank of the reservoir. Because there are many boats for fishing friends to rent at each fishing spot in Dongwushi Reservoir, and the fish situation is particularly good, local fishing friends also call this reservoir "a holy place for boat fishing".

The fish species in the reservoir are: carp, crucian carp, grass carp, silver carp, catfish, silver carp and so on. Among them, crucian carp is the main catch of boat fishing. Except in winter, it is not a problem to catch more than ten kilograms and dozens of kilograms of crucian carp a day. The main fishing spots of reservoir boat fishing are: South Bank (dam) from east to west are Dong Tian Well, Xidai and Lucunying. From east to west, the north shore is Sun Island, Nihe, Xiazhuang and Xiazhuangdian.
