Zhaoqing Xijiang information

Xijiang River, the mainstream of the Pearl River, is located in China, eastern Guangxi and western Guangdong. From Maxiong Mountain, the birthplace of the Upper Proterozoic Nanpanjiang River in Wumeng Mountain, Qujing City, Yunnan Province, to Sixianjiao, Guangdong Province. This river is 2,074.8 kilometers long with a drainage area of 355,000 square kilometers. Xijiang River is called Nanpanjiang from Heyuan to Wangmo County, Hongshui River from Shuangjiangkou to Shilong Sanjiangkou in Xiangzhou County, Qianjiang River from Sanjiangkou to Guiping City, Jiang Xun from Guiping City to Wuzhou City, and Xijiang River from Wuzhou City to Sixianjiao. Heyuan to Sanjiangkou is the upstream, including Nanpanjiang River and Hongshui River, with a length of 1.573 km. Rivers pass through the alternating topography of plateau basins and canyons. The river is deep, with an average gradient of 0.85‰, and there are dangerous beaches. Sanjiangkou to Wuzhou is the middle reaches, including Qianjiang section and Jiang Xun section, with a total length of 294 kilometers. There are famous Huangmao Gorge and Dateng Gorge in Qianjiang section, among which Dateng Gorge is 44 kilometers long, and the river is swift, and the deepest part is 85 meters when it is dry, which is the deepest part of the Xijiang River. In Jiang Xun section, there are low mountains, hills and plains on both sides. Wuzhou to Sixianjiao is the downstream, with a length of 208 kilometers and a wide and deep river, with an average gradient of 0.09‰ and a width of 700 ~ 2000 meters. Finally, Sixianjiao entered the Pearl River Delta river network area.
