Composition on the road to language growth
Growth is like a small boat in my life. Sometimes it is calm and sometimes it encounters rough waves. My growth is a boat that has allowed me to go through many storms. For me, there are laughter and tears, sadness and joy, sweetness and bitterness.
It was like the first time I became a transfer student, the first turning point in my life. Transfer student? I wonder how many people have been transfer students? I am a living example. But how many people understand how transfer students feel? Does it feel good or bad? Now let me lead you into the life of a transfer student!
I am a new immigrant from mainland China to Hong Kong. It’s my first time reporting here, and I’m not familiar with life’s journey. I was 12 years old at the time and entered the school in Hong Kong. I began to study in a new world... I remember that when I went to school on the first day, I was extremely scared. I was afraid of this and that. But the result was still the same. I still put on my school uniform and started my study. New classmates, new faces, everything is new, I feel like I have arrived on Mars. Everything is so strange and scary to me. It's like I have to learn everything from scratch, just like a newborn baby, babbling, I started to learn words in school.
When I first came here, I didn’t have many friends and I completely changed. The me who used to love playing with friends has disappeared; the me who used to love shopping has disappeared... Why is this happening? I often ask myself this question. Maybe this is due to the influence of time, place, and peers! In Hong Kong, efficiency is the most important thing. You have to race against time all the time, and you must beat it. Otherwise you will fall behind and be left behind by others, separated by a river or even the Yangtze River from others. Otherwise, as a transfer student, you must work hard, otherwise you will be looked down upon and scorned by others.
I have been in Hong Kong for almost a year now, and I am familiar with the surrounding environment and things. During these days, I also participated in the school's volleyball team and once represented the school in off-campus competitions. Whether I won or not won, these were also some good learning opportunities that allowed me to learn more things beyond textbooks. The most precious thing can be said to be the attitude and character learned. I think these are difficult to learn in textbooks! It also allowed me to make many close friends and made me understand the value of friends. Living in friendship, you will be like an enemy dissolved in water into the sea, or a leaf growing in the forest, and you will feel that you have a broad power. That's how I feel now.
My primary school life is coming to an end soon, and the years are quietly passing by as I grow up. I live in a very ordinary world, and everything seems to be taken for granted. After savoring it carefully, I feel that some days have a faint meaning. The sourness, the slightest sweetness, and the touch that slips away inadvertently.
Perhaps life is like a door. When closed, the inside is full of hazy warmth; when opened, the outside world is really colorful and gorgeous. A door tells a story, and a door tells a life. We know how to cherish life, but we must also know how to own a door and have a door that we will cherish forever. Only in this way, no matter where you go, you don't have to be afraid of this or that like me.
Transfer student, this role also occupies an important position in my life. Life always has ups and downs, this is a colorful life. Because I know that knowing how to stand up after falling is the most important thing. If you don’t know what it feels like to fall, how can you know the sweetness of yearning for success?
