What are the application conditions for studying in Canadian language schools?
Some students who study in Canada are not high enough in language, so they will choose a language school, which will give them an advantage. Let's see what it takes to go to a language school in Canada.
1. Application requirements
In Canada, most universities and colleges have language centers or language schools. Therefore, if students have achieved good grades in high school for three years and the average score for admission to Canadian universities is above, they can apply for admission to universities through double admission even if they don't have IELTS and TOEFL scores. Of course, they must first complete language training in the language center of the school to meet the language level requirements of the school, and then enter freshmen.
This is easy for students to accept psychologically. However, it must be noted that the length of language courses before freshman year depends on the Placementtest after enrollment and the degree of students' study hard. If the language fails, the school will not be allowed to enter the freshman class, and even if it will pass the exam and enter the freshman class, the ability to learn professional courses in English is not strong, and it will eventually be eliminated by the school.
Students who need to study linguistics can only know exactly how long you will take the entrance examination after you arrive at school. The general language is ESL, which lasts for three months a semester. Grammar accounts for 4% of the language test, while oral listening accounts for 2%, and the remaining 4% is reading. You can take professional courses directly if you try to take IELTS 6.5, but each course must be above 6. It depends on the school, and each province and city is not the same.
Second, the application process of the language school
Contact the school and get financial guarantee:
1. Contact the Canadian language school (about two months)
I will write to the school directly in English to introduce my resume and study plan, and ask for school information and application for admission.
Fill in the application form sent by the school in English, remit the registration fee and tuition fee to the school through China Bank, and send the application form.
get the admission notice (school acceptance letter) and tuition receipt.
2. Financial guarantee
At the same time as contacting the language school, we must start to obtain financial guarantee. The contents are as follows:
A draft in the name of a student-the amount is about 1,-12, Canadian dollars (about 3, US dollars). The draft can be handled in a big bank in Canada or a third country (including the Bank of China). The payer will give the original draft to the student himself, and the student will apply for a passport and visa with the draft. After arriving in Canada, the student can withdraw money with the draft for living expenses. If the visa is not obtained in the end, the student can arrive with the original draft.
economic guarantee, which is issued by the guarantor, stating that he (she) will provide you with the amount of money. The guarantee is notarized by a local lawyer, and attached with the guarantor's tax bill, payroll or receipt certificate for the last six months, as well as the guarantor's bank deposit statement for the last six months or the certificate of fixed deposit for the last six months. If the guarantor is a Canadian citizen, go to the Immigration Center (CIC) of that country to handle the guarantee procedures; if the guarantor is the third or fourth (including Hong Kong), the guarantee materials must be sent to the Canadian embassy or consulate in the country (or region) for approval.
Passport application (about one month):
Bring the admission notice, money order, letter of economic guarantee, household registration book, work permit and five 2-inch bareheaded photos to the foreign office of the public security bureau where you apply for a passport.
visa application (about three months):
1. Send the original admission notice (with a copy) to the Student Affairs Office of the Canadian Embassy in China (No.1 Sanlitun, Beijing) with a letter of visa application (in English)
2. The Canadian Embassy will send back the visa application form.
3. Fill out the visa application form in English. Attach a draft, economic guarantee and four two-inch bareheaded photos to the Canadian Embassy.
Third, the conditions for studying abroad at other stages
Canadian universities adopt the application system, and the subject depends on the students' high school grades. For China students, it is generally the grades of Grade One, Grade Two and the first half of Grade Three, or the students who have already graduated must combine the grades of Grade Three. For graduate students, it depends on the achievements of the university for several years.
undergraduate course: 8% of the average university is enough, and more than 85% is recommended by better schools. Some schools will ask for the results of HKCEE and NMET, while others will not, depending on the official website of the school.
Postgraduate: You must have a bachelor's degree. Except for MBA, almost all master's majors require applicants to graduate from the same undergraduate major. Law, accounting, medicine and other special majors may not be admitted even if they are the same as undergraduate courses. The documents applied by graduate students, including resumes, letters of recommendation and personal statements, are also particularly important.
In Canada, it is generally difficult to apply for a master's degree, whether it is an ordinary school or a prestigious school. Generally, the GPA is required to be above 3. or 75%, but it is recommended to be above 8%, and the elite school is almost above 85%.
College: Compared with universities, the admission standards of colleges are much lower. The top Canadian colleges such as George Brown College, Mohawk College and Bikalano College all require 75% of international students' scores, which should not exceed 85%. There is basically no requirement for the scores of the national examination and college entrance examination, and sometimes there is no lower limit for the scores of colleges.
