Are Tajiks and Tajiks in Xinjiang the same race?

Strictly speaking, it's just the same name, not a family.

There are still many differences between Tajiks in Tajikistan (plain Tajiks) and Tajiks in Lecouls, China (mountainous Tajiks).

1. The Tajik people in China are composed of Vaughan Tajik people and Lecouls Tajik people, with Lekur Tajik people as the main body. Tajiks in Vaughan are Afghan Tajiks and Pashtuns, whose languages are similar to Pashto and they can communicate with each other, while Tajiks in high mountains speak Gudong Persian, which cannot communicate with Tajik. They belong to Sipos and have a large number of Turkic words.

Second, religious differences. Tajiks in the mountains believe in the Shia Twelve Yi Sima sects, and the degree of Islamization is not high. So far, they still retain a large number of Zoroastrianism beliefs. For example, festivals and customs have obvious Zoroastrian characteristics and are regarded as pagan festivals and customs by Sunnis. On the other hand, Tajiks in the plain belong to Sunni Muslims, with a deep degree of sinicization and a serious fundamentalist tendency.

Third, historical formation is different. The alpine Tajik belongs to the East Persian who did not spread after the Turkish invasion and the survivors of the East Persian who did not want to surrender to the rule of the Turkic and Mongolian Tatar groups, and fled into the Pamirs in the killing. The plain Tajik system was formed by the submission of the ancient Persian Sogdians and a small number of Turkic hybrids.

Fourth, ethnic differences, the Tajik people in the mountains belong to Europa Mediterranean type, and the Tajik people in the plains belong to Fergana short skull type of Indo-European language family and a small number of Mongolian Turkic hybrids. The primitive Indo-Europeans with blond hair and blue eyes of Tajik people in mountainous areas have obvious characteristics and are close to Armenia, Georgia, Greece and other ethnic groups. On the other hand, Tajiks on the plains have black hair and eyes, which are similar to the Turkic ethnic groups with higher Europeanization, such as Uzbeks, and are very close to the ethnic groups of Azerbaijanis.
