According to the Notice of the former General Office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on Doing a Good Job in Verification and Assistance Certification of Retired Persons Living in Different Places (No.20048 issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security), the assistance certification of retired persons living in different places is carried out at least once a year.

There are currently three ways to participate in qualification certification:

1. A retiree can apply for a certificate of assistance at the labor and social security agency in the street (township) where he lives or the social insurance agency at the county (district) level where he lives with his ID card, retirement certificate and certificate of assistance. Retirees themselves or their families should send the certificate of assistance back to the social insurance agency where the pension insurance relationship is located within the month when the retirees are born. You can apply for remote networking certification through the original enterprise to the social security bureau where the pension insurance relationship is located. However, please confirm in advance whether your place of residence has joined the off-site platform of the Ministry.

Those who fail to participate in the qualification certification within the specified time shall be suspended from paying benefits until the qualification certification is completed and resumed.
