At present, China's reform and development is standing at a new historical starting point, with unprecedented opportunities and challenges. Judging from the international situation, we are faced with the pressure from western developed countries with dominant economy and science and technology, as well as hostile forces' attempts to westernize and divide China. From the domestic situation, with the increasing diversification of social and economic components, organizational forms, employment methods, interest relations and distribution methods in China, the independence, selectivity, variability and differences of people's ideological activities have been significantly enhanced. This puts forward new challenges and new requirements for ideological work. Practice shows that the more complicated the situation and the more diversified the society, the more it is necessary to unify thoughts and understanding on fundamental issues. China is a big country with a population of1300 million. To closely unite the 654.38 billion+300 million people of China, we must adhere to the guiding position of Marxism. Without the guidance of Marxism and the same pursuit of values, it will lead to people's distraction and social chaos, and even lead to national division and national disintegration, returning to the fragmented and humiliating situation in old China. Of course, the Marxism we adhere to is the Marxism of development. Only by arming the whole party and educating the people with developing Marxism can we truly play the great role of Marxism in understanding and transforming the world. We should develop through persistence and persist in development.
