Industrial development of Wangtan Town

The party committee and government of Wangtan Town make full use of its location advantage in the golden section of the coastal economic uplift zone and actively integrate into the development of the Bohai Rim region. Tangshan Port Yuanda Logistics Co., Ltd., Bogang Logistics Project, Tangshan Anjiexin Concrete Project and Tangshan Chen Hao Mineral Products Processing Project have been built successively. At the same time, a number of small and medium-sized projects are stepping up preparations, forming a situation of great opening up, great investment and great construction. Laoting County Industrial Park was established with the approval of the provincial government and is located in Wangtan Town, covering an area of 1680 mu. At present, it is in the development and construction period, and many projects with an investment of more than 50 million yuan, such as steel structure processing, blind hole briquette processing and Langfang traffic logistics, have been put into construction.

A number of large enterprises such as Tangshan Plate Co., Ltd. and Datang Wangtan Power Plant were put into production. The settlement of these large projects provides a historic opportunity for the development of Wangtan Town.

With the in-depth development of market economy, the traditional trade industry is growing. There are three markets in the town: Wangtan Market, Xinkai Market and Changbai Village Market. The total retail sales of consumer goods reached 370 million yuan.

By the first half of 2008, the total number of rural laborers transferred to non-agricultural industries was 1.25 million, accounting for 42% of the total labor force. The annual labor income is1250,000 yuan, and the per capita labor income of farmers ranks first in the county.
