1September 1987 to1July 1989, when I was a rural reporter in Liaoning Branch of Xinhua News Agency, I went deep into the grassroots and wrote many reports with strong earthy flavor.

Comrade Mou Fengjing has a strong ability in investigation and research. During his ten years as a journalist, he has written many influential research articles, and more than 30 of his internal reference articles have been approved by the central leadership.

1992, through the investigation of large loss-making households in Liaoning province 10 for more than one month, a group of three internal references was written, which attracted the great attention of the central leadership. In the subsequent "Tenth Five-Year Plan", water conservancy was listed as the first of the four basic industries in China for the first time. Jiang Chunyun, then Vice Premier of the State Council, praised the great role played by young journalists. This manuscript won the top ten research awards of Xinhua News Agency again.

After taking charge of Chongqing Daily, he led all journalists to edit, organize and plan a large number of reports around the "four major tasks" assigned by the central government to Chongqing, and achieved good social effects. Over the years, Chongqing Daily has published a lot of reports on the reform of state-owned enterprises, the increase of farmers' income, the Three Gorges resettlement, rural poverty alleviation, the development of private economy, the construction of "Five Chongqing" and the analysis of the current economic situation, and has been praised by the news reading evaluation group of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee for many times. In the case of busy administrative affairs, he takes time to go deep into the grassroots every year, investigates and studies, and leads reporters to write more than 700 articles. And insist on revising important manuscripts and reading the front page of Chongqing Daily. He led reporters to write many articles, such as Major Changes Facing the New Century, Major Changes in the Development System and Environment, Benevolence, Justice, Justice, and Speed of Life and Death, which had great repercussions inside and outside the city. His book How to Improve the Utilization of News Resources by Newspaper Group won the third prize of China News Award in 2004. The commentary "Young China said" won the second prize in the commentary category of the 2009 China News Award; The editorial newsletter "Defending Righteousness and Restraint, Being an Official with Caution" won the third prize in the communication category of 20 10 China News Award. In addition, more than 30 articles written and edited won the first prize of Chongqing News Award.

During his tenure as editor-in-chief of Chongqing Daily, it was a crucial period for Chongqing Daily to transform from a single listed city party newspaper to a provincial party newspaper. He led a group of editorial board members to study in advanced party newspapers all over the country for many times, made brand-new arrangements for the positioning, functions and advantages of newspapers, and put forward the new concept of running newspapers: "authoritative political and economic newspapers, excellent mainstream news" and "highly serving decision-making and deeply participating in life". On the basis of "three closeness", he also proposed that the party newspaper should "provide content closer to readers' reading needs, adopt a discourse system closer to readers' reading habits, and use a layout language closer to the characteristics of the times". He proposed that party newspapers should be good at "centering on the center, serving the overall situation, going deep into the grassroots, investigating and studying".

In 2004, Liu Yunshan, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Minister of Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, visited Chongqing and fully affirmed it. At the briefing of Chongqing Municipal Committee, Minister Yunshan said that Chongqing Daily had good experience in running newspapers, and I quite agree with their sixteen words. I changed them, which can be called "taking the center as the center, serving the overall situation, facing the grassroots and serving the masses". Nowadays, "two services" has become an important policy of national news propaganda and the running direction of Chongqing Daily for many years. Under his leadership, Chongqing Daily has undergone six major revisions and realized the transformation from a municipal party newspaper to a national party newspaper. The revised Chongqing Daily has further strengthened and improved its coverage of the central work, innovated the discourse system of the party newspaper, made the content of the report more vivid, and made the language more popular and easy to understand, which has been well received by the majority of party and government cadres and ordinary readers.
