The history of Yangzhong city

Yangzhong, formerly known as Taiping Zhou, belongs to Zhenjiang Dantu, Danyang, Changzhou Wujin, Yangzhou Jiangdu and Taixing.

At the end of Qing Dynasty, Taiping Church was established in Taiping Prefecture, which belonged to Zhenjiang Prefecture. 19 14 was renamed Yangzhong county because of the same name as Taiping county in Anhui province.

The main body of Yangzhong City is an island on the Yangtze River, with an area of 332 square kilometers and a population of 280,000. Located at 1 19 degrees east longitude and 32 degrees north latitude, it is the second largest island in the Yangtze River after Chongming. Yangzhong place name is named because it is located in the Yangtze River.

Yangzhong City faces Taizhou City and Yangzhou City across the main channel of the Yangtze River in the north, and Zhenjiang New District, Danyang City and Xinbei District in Changzhou City in the southwest. Yangzhong Yangtze River Bridge is an important traffic tunnel connecting north and south.

Yangzhong City has jurisdiction over five towns: Sanmao Town, Xinba Town, Youfang Town, Baqiao Town and Xilaiqiao Town. Among them, Sanmao Town has an area of 133. 19 square kilometers and a population of130,000, accounting for 40% of Yangzhong.

Yangzhong is an "engineering electrical island" with power and electrical appliances as its main industry, accounting for nearly 70% of the city's total economic output and 20% of the domestic market share.
