The Historical Evolution of Pingshan Town

In order to help the construction of the third largest hydropower station in China to Jiaba Hydropower Station, pingshan county needs to move collectively, and the county seat is identified as Zhenxi Township, Yibin County through various site selection.

According to the spirit of document No.42 [2003] of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, Xixiang Town, Gaochang Town, Yibin County, Jiangba Village and Shipan Village were placed under the jurisdiction of pingshan county, and the Township People's Government was located in Nong Xin, which was expanded and renamed Xinfa Township.

In 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs on February 6, 2006 (Han Min [2006] No.30), the government residence of Pingshan County was moved from Pingshan Town to Xinfa Township of Pingshan County.

In 2009, the construction of Pingshan new county was officially launched.

2012 may 3 1 the deadline for the relocation of Pingshan immigrants ushered in many residents in the old county.

20 12 On April 23rd, the Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the merger of Xinfa Township in pingshan county to build a town (Pingshan Town);

On September 20 1 February1day, Pingshan county abolished the organizational system of Xinfa Township, the county seat, and officially listed Pingshan Town as a new town. The Town People's Government is temporarily stationed in Shipan, which governs the administrative area of Xinfa Township and is Chengguan Town, Pingshan County.
