According to the official website "Zhejiang Daily", on June 28th, 2022, the first can of concrete was poured on the raft foundation slab of the nuclear island reactor building of Unit 3 in Maotoushan Peninsula, Jiantiao Town, Sanmen County, Taizhou City, which marked the official start of the second phase of Sanmen Nuclear Power Project. After it is completed and put into operation, it can provide about 20 billion kWh of clean electricity to the society every year, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 65.438+0.5 million tons.
