What are the requirements for studying in the United States?
1. Education requirements
For China students, to apply for an undergraduate degree in the United States, they must graduate from high school at least, and to apply for a master's degree, they must have a bachelor's degree. When applying for schools and majors, you should try your best to meet your academic qualifications, work experience and hobbies, but you can also consider some special majors for conversion. For example, students majoring in English in China can transfer to the United States to study MBA.
2. English requirements
American universities require students to provide English scores when applying, and the basic requirement is that the TOEFL score of undergraduate students is not less than 500. Teachers of Tiandao Education Company suggest that applying for graduate students requires not only TOEFL scores above 550, but also other related English scores, such as GRE scores of science and engineering, liberal arts and mathematics majors, GMAT scores of business majors, DAT scores of dentistry majors, MCAT scores of medical majors and LSAT scores of law majors. However, some American universities do not require GRE or GMAT scores for students applying for postgraduate courses. Excellent English scores can help students apply for scholarships at different levels. More information about studying in the United States can be found in Tiandao American Undergraduate Study Forum.
3. Economic requirements
Due to the differences between schools and majors, the tuition fees of American universities vary greatly. Generally speaking, the tuition of community colleges is about $2,000 a year, while some excellent private universities have high tuition and accommodation fees every year.
Twenty-eight thousand dollars. American universities have 4-5 years of bachelor's degree, 0-3 years of master's degree/kloc, and 5-7 years of doctor's degree. For students applying for home schooling, the annual expenses for their spouses are about 5,000 dollars, and the expenses for their children are about 4,000 dollars each. Family medical insurance costs about $3,500-4,000 a year. For those students who want to work with student visas, American immigration laws have very strict restrictions. With the most common F- 1 visa, they can work part-time or on campus for less than 20 hours a week.
