Reservoir resettlement of Danjiangkou water control project

The initial scale of Danjiangkou Reservoir (normal water level 1.57m)* * * flooded 28,667 hectares of farmland, with an effective immigrant population of 382,000 (excluding 30,000 effective immigrants at the initial stage of the project), most of whom were farmers. These immigrants moved in six batches from 1958 to 1975 17 years. About 40% of the population moved out, and about 60% settled around the nearby reservoir, and the immigrants have stabilized.

On June 25th, 2008, the mobilization meeting of Danjiangkou Reservoir Resettlement Pilot Project was held in Wuhan, marking the full start of Danjiangkou Reservoir Resettlement Pilot Project, the water source of the Middle Route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project. On the basis of the pilot work, the relocation and resettlement of 330,000 migrants in Danjiangkou Reservoir Area of South-to-North Water Transfer Project is planned to be completed by the end of 20 13.
