Introduction and requirements of EB-2 for American professional immigrants EB-2 refers to the second priority of professional immigrants (EB-2 for professional/technical talents).

Applicants in this priority category generally include two situations:

(1) The applicant has a master's degree or above, or the applicant has a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years relevant working experience;

(2) The applicant has special skills in the field of art, science or business. Special skills mean that the applicant has better professional knowledge in this field than others.

There are about 40,000 EB-2 places every year (accounting for 28.6% of the total number of professional immigrants), and the number of places left in the first priority category this year.

EB-2 application requires a work invitation and a work permit (PERM), except in the following cases:

(1) The applicant is granted exemption (NIW) based on national interests;

(2) The applicant meets the design requirements in Schedule 1; (3)。 The application of the pilot scheme to meet the informatization of the labor market.

If the application requires a work permit, the employer shall submit an I- 140 application according to the approved work permit.

I- 140 The application for national interest exemption (NIW) can be submitted by the applicant himself. At present, NIW is a widely used application in the second priority category.

2. Letters from current or former employers certifying that the applicant has at least 10 years of professional experience in his/her professional field;

3. Have a license or certificate required to work in this professional field;

5. Members of professional associations;

6. Make significant contributions and achievements in the professional field and be recognized by professional peers, government agencies, professional or commercial organizations;

7. If the standards listed above are not completely applicable to the applicant's major, similar materials can be provided to prove his special talents, such as the relevant materials listed in the above EB- 1A outstanding talents category.

National interest immunity (NIW)

If eligible EB-2A and EB-2B people can prove that their special talents and professional skills have substantial and significant benefits to the national interests of the United States, they can enjoy the exemption of national interests, avoid the requirement of applying for a work permit from the Ministry of Labor, and directly apply for a green card from the Immigration Bureau. In this way, the status of permanent residents is accelerated.

How to prove that it has substantial and significant interests in the national interests of the United States?

4. Promote the development of medical treatment, health and sanitation in the United States;

5. Provide better living conditions for young, old and poor Americans;

6. Promote environmental protection in the United States and make more effective use of natural resources;

7. The relevant departments of the US government apply for acceptance.
