China immigrants from Myanmar

Although the jurisdiction of Wa State is not fixed in history, it is geographically connected with China in the north and Thailand in the south, and has its own independent armed forces. In Myanmar, it has a very detached status and a high degree of autonomy, and its residents are more attached to China, which leads its residents to speak Chinese and write Chinese characters. In a practical sense, China, which has a strong comprehensive national strength and is full of vitality, is obviously more worthy of the admiration of Wa residents than Myanmar.

The late Ming and early Qing dynasties belonged to the Greater China cultural circle and fell into the hands of Myanmar due to historical disputes. In fact, the Kokang area belonged to Mengding House as early as the Ming Dynasty, but because of the harsh environment and sparse population, few Han Chinese came to live here at that time. After the Qing army, especially Wu Sangui, killed Zhu Youlang, the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty, the Kokang area was under the rule of the Qing Dynasty, and the Qing Dynasty began to formally administer this area. Because there are a large number of Han Chinese groups here and the official rule of the Qing Dynasty, it is legal for local people to speak Chinese and write Chinese characters.

However, by the end of the Qing Dynasty, the national strength of the Qing Dynasty continued to decline, and its control over the border areas began to plummet. The Kokang area was also the envy of the British colonists who invaded Myanmar at that time. 1897, when China and Britain signed the Supplementary Provisions on Renewing the Treaty on Border Affairs between Yunnan and Myanmar, Britain successfully included the Kokang area into the territory of British Myanmar at that time. After World War II, Myanmar gained independence and basically inherited all the areas that belonged to Myanmar at that time, including Kokang.

The two regions have different development paths and different endings. Geographically speaking, the two regions are not far apart, but the development path is completely different. Because of geographical restrictions, it is difficult to develop agricultural production and industry in Kokang area because of policy problems. Therefore, the economy of this region was once very embarrassed, so it boldly tried to conduct extremely lucrative drug trade and began to export drugs to China in large quantities, which caused a lot of trouble to China.

In addition, he is bold and tough against the Burmese regime and has frequent military conflicts with the Burmese military government. After the Burmese military government made up its mind to solve this problem, the courage to cut off foreign aid lost its fighting capacity.
