How to obtain the right of abode in Macao
1. China citizens born in Macao before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and their children born outside Macao;
2. China citizens who have ordinarily resided in Macao for more than seven consecutive years before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and their children born outside Macao after becoming permanent residents;
3. Portuguese born in Macao before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and having Macao as their permanent residence;
4. Portuguese who usually lived in Macao for more than seven consecutive years before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and took Macao as their permanent residence;
5. Other persons who have ordinarily resided in Macao for more than seven consecutive years before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region and have taken Macao as their permanent residence;
6. Children under the age of 18 born in Macao before or after the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region by permanent residents of the Macao Special Administrative Region listed in Item 5.
Mainland residents applying to settle in Hong Kong and Macao must apply to the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ at or above the county level where their household registration is located, accept interviews and inquiries, and perform the following procedures:
1. Submit an Application Form for Mainland Residents to Settle in Hong Kong or Macao (hereinafter referred to as the "Application Form"), which is completed and affixed with the applicant's recent bareheaded color photo (48×33mm), and the applicant will reunite with his relatives in Hong Kong or Macao.
2. Submit the applicant's original household registration book and ID card, and submit a copy; Those under the age of 16 shall be accompanied by their guardians, submit their household registration books and identity cards, and submit copies, as well as opinions issued by their guardians allowing them to settle in Hong Kong or Macao.
3. Submit copies of Hong Kong or Macao resident identity cards and Hong Kong and Macao residents' passes to and from the Mainland. If the relevant personnel in Hong Kong or Macao are of foreign nationality, they shall submit copies of permanent identity cards and foreign passports of Hong Kong or Macao.
4. Submit the opinions of the applicant's work unit or local police station on the applicant's intention to settle in Hong Kong or Macao.
5. Submit the certificate corresponding to the application.
