What is the real situation in Pyongyang, North Korea?

People who are allowed to live in Pyongyang are all senior North Korean officials and related public servants and their families, so their economic conditions are very good and their lives are very rich (I saw many private cars in Pyongyang, all of which are brand-name luxury cars that are rare in China).
