Composition of Jiangya Reservoir

The hub consists of river dam, flood discharge structure, underground power station on the right bank, ship lift and irrigation canal. The elevation of the dam crest is 245m, the elevation of the foundation surface is114m, and the maximum dam height is 13 1 m (the height of the over-storage flood control dam in the later stage of construction is considered as 3m). It was the highest full-face concrete roller compacted gravity dam in the world at that time. The total investment of Jiangya Project is 3313.72 million yuan (of which the reservoir resettlement compensation is 63 175 million yuan, accounting for 19.06% of the total investment). Domestic capital was raised by the Ministry of Water Resources and Hunan Province, and foreign capital used a loan of 97 million US dollars from the World Bank. The advanced management mode of owner responsibility system, bidding system and project supervision system is adopted in the project construction, in which the concrete roller compacted gravity dam and main electromechanical equipment are subject to international bidding, and the Lishui River Basin Water Resources and Hydropower Comprehensive Development Company (hereinafter referred to as Lishui Company) jointly established by the Ministry of Water Resources and Hunan Province is the project owner.

Jiangya project was approved by the state in June 1993, and the preparatory work for construction began in June 1994. The main works started in July, 1998, 10, 18, 1999. 1994 basically completed the resettlement by the end of 2000, and actually resettled 13888 people (Hunan1758, Hubei 2 130). Now Jiangya project has been completely completed, and after preliminary acceptance, it has the conditions for completion acceptance.
