There is a big difference. Even in Kunming, dialects have subtle changes. Guandu dialect is different from most Kunming dialects, such as Qujing, Yuxi, Chuxiong, Zhaotong, Honghe, Banna, Baoshan and Wenshan. Dialects in each place are slightly different because of the geographical division, but Kunming city is not so worried. If you communicate in Mandarin, people will respond in Mandarin.
