Expulsion from the army

Discharging the army is the most severe military punishment.

According to the provisions of the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army of China, one of the following circumstances shall be dismissed from the army:

1, sentenced counter-revolutionary criminals will be expelled from the army;

2. Criminals sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of more than five years shall generally be discharged from the army; Those who are sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years or criminal detention are generally not expelled from the army;

3. For counter-revolutionaries and other bad elements who are not investigated for criminal responsibility, they have indeed lost the basic conditions for revolutionary soldiers, and they can be dismissed from the army when necessary. The above-mentioned personnel who need to be dismissed from the army must be approved by the units at the corps level, the cadres below the battalion level must be approved by the major military region or the first-class services and arms units, and the cadres above the regiment level must be approved by the Central Military Commission.
