Unscramble the sad course of studying in New Zealand
Sad story one
When I first came to New Zealand, I was arranged to stay in an old foreigner's homestay. I'm very excited about going abroad for the first time, and I always want to take a walk. When I arrived, I wanted the landlord to take me out for a stroll at the weekend, but the old lady's son came to pick her up, so I went out to have a look by myself and walked outside for a long time. There is nothing but convenience stores.
Living alone in a house without heating at night is very, very cold. When I went to take a shower, I found a note posted in the bathroom, which said that it should not exceed 15 minutes.
Since then, we have eaten the same rice, mashed potatoes, beans and a small piece of meat every day.
Later, I chatted with my classmates. I just came out to study abroad and lived in a homestay. Traffic is inconvenient and cultural differences are great. This is entirely due to luck. I'm lucky. Some foreigners at home have a bad attitude towards China people, and some garages have been converted into foreign students' rooms.
But after living for a long time, I have a good relationship with the landlord of foreigners. She also told me many stories. In fact, studying in New Zealand is like this. You may be lonely, but this is the way of life in this country.
Sad story 2
I learned it at UNITEC. It's good. I went to that university after I got there. The university has been very happy in recent years, because UNITEC has a big playground, unlike other schools, there are many people in China. When I have class, I go to school. After class, I exercise in the school gym. I can take a bath. It's very comfortable, and we have a student price, which is super cheap. It can be said that the school there is really a good school that cares for students everywhere. The school often organizes various activities, such as table tennis competitions and various clubs, but I never participate. Although I'm not with China people, I'm not interested in foreigners' things. In this way, the three years of happy university are over. I graduated, too. After graduation, I got a work visa of 1 year, but I thought my classmates had found jobs and it was so easy to find jobs, so I went back to China for half a year and went back to New Zealand to find jobs. However, I submitted more than 200 resumes and got no reply. In this way, my visa is about to expire, and I am in a hurry. My college classmates have started to emigrate. Later, I learned that there is an organization called SJS in the school, whose full name is student job hunting, which helps UNITEC students get in touch with work. I regret it. I regret why I didn't take part in various school activities when I was in college.
Sad story three
Every school holiday, I will go back to China, no matter how much the air ticket is. My friends say I am a local tyrant, and I just smile every time. It is all envy to go back to China and chat with friends. I think studying in New Zealand is good for me. But let me tell you the truth, you don't know anything. Every time I go back to China, I visit my grandmother, who is in poor health. I was brought up by my grandmother, who was alone. Now sometimes I don't even know myself when I go there. My local tyrant? How many jobs do I have? Who knows? Working in a coffee shop during the day, working in an internet cafe at night, and working illegally at night, only 7 yuan an hour! At the weekend, I also went to the racecourse (a bazaar in New Zealand) to set up a stall. Grab a good stall at 4 am, and grab it all morning. I mainly sell mobile phone cases. When I first went to sell it, I brought a lot of iPhone cases from China, but foreigners didn't use iPhones there. I didn't sell any of them in the first two weeks. I have also worked as a cinema cleaner and porter. I had six jobs during my college years. It took me four years to graduate in three years. Now, my job is good, my salary is high, and everything is stable. Think about those years of studying abroad. Who will understand the ups and downs? When I was in college, there were many local tyrants around me, and their families were very rich, but the last few people I met dropped out of school.
Sad story four
I went to New Zealand to study about six years ago. I didn't know anything when I first went there. Then the school asked me to open an account in the bank, so I went. At the bank, foreigners told me that I was an international student and suggested that I open a special account for international students. The advantage is that there is no handling fee every month. Their general account has a monthly handling fee. I was very happy, so the salesman did it for me. I use everything well. Later, my friend said that the bank cards of other banks looked good, and I believed it, so I opened another bank account. There was more than 100 in that bank before, so I thought, that's it, no need. Since then, I have never used the service of that bank. About a few years later, I received a letter from a debt collection company, saying that I owed the bank more than 300 yuan and asked me to return it to others immediately with interest. I was crazy at that time and conducted various investigations. Later, I learned that the international student account was valid because it was opened at that time, and the validity period was equivalent to your visa time. If it is a renewal fee, you must re-submit it to the bank, otherwise it will be automatically converted into an ordinary account. Generally, if there are not many accounts, there will be a handling fee, and it is very high. In the end, the bank couldn't receive the money and couldn't contact me, so it sold the debt to a debt collection company, with interest. And it is said that the bank will reduce my local credit. Alas, I was only 17 years old at that time. I don't know anything about it, and no one told me. I really didn't know anything when I first went abroad. Thanks to my delicious food.
I traveled across the ocean to New Zealand in the southern hemisphere and studied here, leaving my own bits and pieces. The university life here gives us a taste of the ups and downs in the southern hemisphere. We had happiness and shed tears. Every foreign student has his own story, every graduate has another side that others can't see, and we are all interpreting our lonely but extraordinary experiences.
The above is an introduction to the sad course of studying in New Zealand. I hope I can help you.
