Can a person with a criminal record apply for a tourist visa abroad?

According to the relevant laws and regulations, except for the following five categories, others can apply for going abroad:

1. Defendants in criminal cases and criminal suspects recognized by public security organs, people's procuratorates and people's courts.

2. The people's court informs that there are unresolved civil cases that cannot leave the country.

The sentenced person is serving his sentence.

4. Reeducation through labor.

5. The relevant authorities in the State Council believe that leaving the country will cause harm to national stability or cause great losses to national interests.

Expanding the examination and approval information of overseas tourist destinations is a very serious and important work. Generally speaking, as a destination for China citizens to travel abroad, they should meet the following conditions:

(1) is a tourist source country in China, which is conducive to tourism cooperation and exchanges between the two sides;

(2) Being politically friendly to China and conducting state diplomacy are in line with China's foreign policy;

(3) Tourism resources are attractive and have reception service facilities suitable for China tourists;

(4) There is no policy of discrimination, restriction or retaliation against China tourists politically and legally;

(5) Tourists have a sense of security and good accessibility.

As can be seen from the above provisions, travel agencies engaged in overseas tourism business may not organize tourists to travel to countries and regions other than China citizens' overseas tourist destinations announced by the tourism administrative department of the State Council.
