RFE, full name request for evidence, is the supplementary material required by the Immigration Bureau. In the process of hearing the application, if the immigration officer thinks that the materials submitted cannot meet the requirements and need more supplementary evidence, the immigration bureau will ask the applicant to provide more materials to support the application. The more sufficient the materials prepared for the application, the less likely it is for the Immigration Bureau to request supplementary documents.

When the Immigration Bureau decides to apply for RFE, the processing flow of the case will be temporarily stopped, and the RFE letter sent by the Immigration Bureau requires that the applicant's supplementary materials be received within 87 days. The case will not be dealt with until the Immigration Bureau receives a reply from RFE. Generally speaking, the Immigration Bureau will give a reply within 60 days after receiving the reply.
