It takes about three months for the consulate to receive the application documents from the American visa center. After receiving the application documents, Guangzhou Consulate will send a letter to the applicant on how to continue the immigration application. Only when the Guangzhou Consulate receives all the required documents and completes all the background checks will it arrange an interview and notify the applicant as soon as the visa quota is available (applicable to visa categories subject to quota restrictions). Visa interviews are usually arranged three to six weeks in advance.
