Are overseas Koreans from China? Why do they call themselves Koreans instead of China?
Korean is one of the ethnic minorities in China, mainly distributed in the northeast of China, most of which are located in Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces. Among Koreans, some people have different identities about their national identity, and some people think they are Koreans, not China people.
Koreans refer to people of Korean descent and occupy a certain proportion among Koreans. Koreans have their own culture and traditions, including language, diet, beliefs and so on. They usually consider themselves as Korean citizens, not citizens of China or North Korea.
However, this difference in identity does not necessarily mean that there are cultural or racial differences between Koreans and Koreans. There are also some Koreans in China who think they are from China because their ancestors were immigrants from China. Similarly, among Koreans in South Korea, some people consider themselves Koreans because their ancestors were Koreans.
In a word, overseas Koreans are from China, and they call themselves Koreans because they are different from Han people in name recognition. However, this difference in identity does not necessarily mean that there are cultural or racial differences between them and the Han nationality.
