China passport cannot be directly used for going to Macau.

Chinese mainland residents mainly use Hong Kong and Macao Pass to travel to Hong Kong and Macao. If you want to travel to Macao, you need to apply for Hong Kong and Macao Pass and Macao endorsement in time. The Travel Permit to and from Hong Kong and Macao, commonly known as the Two-way Permit, is a travel document issued by the exit-entry administration departments of People's Republic of China (PRC) and People's Republic of China (PRC), namely the State Administration for Exit-Entry, to China mainland residents for private travel to and from Hong Kong or Macao, visiting relatives, engaging in business, training, employment, studying abroad and other non-official activities.

Citizens of China who travel between the mainland and Taiwan Province Province shall apply for a pass according to law and abide by the relevant provisions of this Law. Specific management measures shall be formulated by the State Council. Holders of third-country residence visas can travel unlimited times with their passports and third-country identity cards, and each stay is 14 days. Holders of short-term visas from third countries can fly to Macao with their passports and air tickets for a maximum stay of 7 days.
