The Natural Environment of haimen port New District

The ancestors of the natives in haimen port New District were immigrants from the north and south of the Yangtze River after the Tang Dynasty, and then they migrated many times because of the river invading the sea. Cultural sources are scattered and complicated, because it used to be a saltworks, so it was influenced by Jianghuai culture.

Steamed cakes are used to steaming sponge cakes, and made into pieces of red printed cakes engraved with auspicious words such as "five blessings" and "Congratulations on making a fortune". I am also used to steaming steamed bread. Steamed steamed bread needs fermentation, which means making a fortune. The word "steamed bread" is homophonic with "fullness", which means wealth and abundance. After the steamed buns are steamed, most of them are sliced and dried, and they can be eaten in spring ploughing.

Sacrificing ancestors in the New Year, called "Burning the New Year Classics", is a banquet for deceased relatives and ancestors. Usually, there is a specific object for burning scriptures, that is, burning scriptures on the anniversary of the death of an ancestor and inviting other deceased relatives to get together. The "Chinese New Year Classic" is to invite all deceased relatives and ancestors to reunite together, and it is a "group meeting" at the end of the year. To worship ancestors, portraits need to be hung in the central hall, from New Year's Eve to the fifteenth day of the first month, for future generations to worship.
