Climatic characteristics of Xiangshan county

Xiangshan county belongs to subtropical maritime monsoon climate zone, with four distinct seasons, no severe cold in winter and no intense heat in summer, long frost-free period (about 248 days per year and 345 days in growth period), abundant sunshine (average annual temperature 16- 17℃), moderate humidity and abundant rainfall (average annual precipitation1400)

However, typhoon activities are frequent, often accompanied by violent storms, and the water source is short and urgent. It is injected into the sea alone, and the engineering storage performance is weak, and the river network density is low, which hides hidden dangers of drought and flood.

The annual average rainfall of the county is1.463mm, and the annual average runoff of water resources is 933 million cubic meters. The temporal and spatial distribution of rainfall runoff decreases from northwest to southeast, and it is concentrated in rainy period and typhoon period, showing a double peak type. The interannual variation is extremely unbalanced, with the maximum amplitude of 2.83. The limitations of engineering geology, topography, submerged migration and economic conditions make it difficult to develop and utilize water resources.
