Changtan Town is located in the southeast of Fushun County, Sichuan Province (the upper reaches of the Yangtze River), bordering on the west bank of Tuojiang River, 64 kilometers away from the county seat, 25 kilometers downstream, and straight into the Yangtze River. The government is based in Changtanba, and the traffic trunk line is Provincial Highway 207, 28km away from Luzhou, with Long (Chang)-Na (Xi) Expressway13km, east to Chaohai Township, Lu Xian County and south to Jiang Chao Township, Luzhou City.

Changtan Town is located in the southeast of Zhongxiang City, Jingmen City, Hubei Province (the middle reaches of the Yangtze River), with jingshan county in the east, Long Beach Branch of Wusan Farm, Jiukou Town and Provincial Military Region Farm in the south, Luohan Temple Farm and Chaihu Town in the west, Shimen Reservoir and Dakou Forest Park in the north. It is about17km long from north to south and 20km wide from east to west, with a land area of142km2.
