The mountain faces Pipa Lake to the south, Poyang Lake to the north, Xinjiang River to the east and Huhui River to the west. It is a famous scenic spot in Yugan County. Su Dongpo, a great writer of the Song Dynasty, is even more famous for his poem "Eight Views of Dongshan".

Although the altitude of Dongshan Ridge is only 56.2 meters, compared to the surrounding rivers, lakes, and plains, Dongshan Ridge can be regarded as a peak rising from the ground. Dongshan Ridge is more than 300 meters long from east to west, nearly 200 meters wide from north to south, and covers an area of ??less than 0.1 square kilometers. It is low in the middle and has a peak on the east and west sides, shaped like a sheep's horn, so it was formerly called Yangjiao Mountain. In the Southern Dynasties, this peak was called Yangjiao Peak. In the sixth year of Tang Tianbao's reign (747), Yuganshan was ordered to be reformed. In the Song Dynasty, it was named Guanshan because it rose from the flat ground and looked as majestic as a crown. Guqinggao in Mingzhi County changed Yangjiao Peak to Longjiao Peak. In the Qing Dynasty, it was also called Donggang Mountain, commonly known as Donggang Ridge. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was renamed Dongshanling.

On the current Dongshan Ridge, there is a Revolutionary Martyrs Monument on the top of the East Peak. It is the commanding height and the tallest building in Yugan County. The monument is a reinforced concrete structure with a height of 17 meters. The front is engraved with eight gold-plated characters in Comrade Mao Zedong's handwriting: "Revolutionary Martyrs Live Immortal". There are stone steps in front of the monument, with green pines and cypresses on both sides, in an orderly manner. This is a tourist attraction to pay homage to the martyrs and a base for education on patriotism and traditional culture in Yugan County.

It is reported that the Revolutionary Martyrs Monument was originally built on the north slope of Dongshan Ridge in 1950. In the Martyrs Cemetery next to the monument, revolutionary martyrs in the early days of liberation are buried. Among them are 21 martyrs including Zhang Tingjia and martyr Guan Derong. Zhang Tingjia was a deputy commander of Erye. In June 1949, the 52nd Division of Erye set off from Wannian County and headed towards Yugan. Passing through Shagang Ferry, it encountered a surge in floods and the ferry capsized. Zhang Tingjia and others were Unfortunately, 21 commanders and fighters fell into the water and all died. Guan Derong was a cadre who went south and was killed by gangsters while working in Datang Village. These martyrs were also buried together on the northern slope of Dongshan Ridge. Li Yewu, then the county magistrate of Yugan County, once wrote an elegiac couplet on the monument:

Crossed the Yellow River, crossed the Yangtze River, killed the enemy in Yugan, and did not die on the battlefield. Falling into the water, Twenty-One Heroes has a grudge;

A gangster who fought against bullies, worked in Datang, was killed and died in front of the village, and thousands of people admired his loyal soul.

The current monument was built in September 1980, on the east peak of Dongshan Ridge (the top of Yangjiao Peak). Next to the monument, there are memorial pavilions, Haoqi square, martyrs cemetery, stone steps and other ancillary buildings. There is also an immortal tea stove on the rock. It is said that it was the tea brewing place carved by Lu Yu, the tea saint of the Tang Dynasty. There are still relics that can be identified.

On the west peak of Dongshan Ridge, there is a pavilion. Next to the pavilion is a natural pool, a pool of clear water, which has been subject to drought for a long time. It is said that there is a dragon pan pool in Qiliang, which never dries up in all seasons, so it is called "Dragon Pool". Pool". It is said that when Zhu Xi was annotating "Li Sao" in the former Dongshan Academy (now Yuqian Hotel), he often used the water to grind ink and wash inkstones, so it is also called the ink pool. Whenever the bright moon is in the sky, looking down at the pool, it seems that the bright moon reflects on the pool. Therefore, "Longchi Night Moon" has become one of the eight scenic spots in Qianyue (the capital of Yugan County in ancient times). Now a Yugan Hotel has been built here, which is the place with the best accommodation conditions in Yugan County.
