Brief introduction of Bian Jiang town

Riverside Township is located in the northeast of Yuanmou County, 32 kilometers away from the county seat, with a land area of 252.3 square kilometers, with the highest elevation of 2835.9 meters and the lowest elevation of 898 meters. The township government is located at an altitude of 980 meters. It is a mountainous area, a mid-level area and a dam area. Infrastructure such as transportation, water conservancy, electricity and communication is very weak, and people's living and cultural level is low. The township governs 54 villagers' groups in 8 village committees, including Longjie, Dashu, Yanshuijing, Yuwo, Binglong, Azhuo, Kamo and Nakamura, with a population of 14533, including agricultural population 14505438+0, accounting for 97% of the total population of the township, and 8,392 ethnic minorities, accounting for the total population. Cultivated land area 15984 mu (including: paddy field 456 1 mu, dry land 1 1.423 mu), and the per capita net income of poor people below 600 yuan accounts for more than 60% of the total population of the township, making it one of the 506 poverty-stricken townships in the province. Chengdu-kunming railway and Huangjiang highways pass through the township, and Jinsha River Waterway and Qika Highway connect the village committees, with developed traffic and convenient transportation. The villagers' committee and some farmers in the village community were connected with program-controlled telephones, and the radio communication network covered most areas of the township, thus ensuring the electricity consumption for industrial and agricultural production and life. It is famous not only for the magical and beautiful Jinsha River, but also for the revolutionary slogan left by the Red Army's Long March and the allusion of "crossing the Jinsha River skillfully".

The first Red Army Festival held in Yuanmou, China on April 23, 2006 further enhanced the popularity of "Jinsha River Tourism", and the fourth Red Army Festival held in Yuanmou, China in April 2009 greatly promoted the development of tourism in my hometown. In the same year, the film "My Long March" was filmed in Longjiedu on the riverside.

Red tourism along the Yangtze River has developed rapidly.
