After death, do you want to go back to the place you want to go to?
This is a question of karma. First of all, whether you can still be a human being is called "receiving human body". Obtaining a human body requires good karma, mainly the "Five Precepts and Ten Good Deeds". It's not easy to do. So human life is rare. The Buddha made a metaphor for this: "Those who gain a human body are like the dirt in the claws, and those who lose their human bodies are like the earth in the earth." If you fail to do the "Five Precepts and Ten Good Deeds", you will be reborn as an animal, evil ghost, or hell in your next life. The most troublesome thing is: once you are born in these three places. Basically, they have been of the same type for tens of thousands of kalpas, and it is difficult to obtain a human body again. Therefore, in the six realms of reincarnation, obtaining a human body is an "accidental phenomenon." Of course, the five precepts and ten good deeds required to obtain a human body are not very strict, otherwise there may not be many people in this world who can obtain a human body again. Therefore, you only need the "Five Precepts and Ten Good Deeds": For example, the first of the five precepts is the precept against killing; if you have never killed anyone, if you feel regret after killing a living being, you must repent in front of the Buddha statue. When eating meat, I couldn't bear the thought of the pain of being slaughtered, and I gradually came to the point of "eating it if I can," and even started to get used to being a vegetarian. Doing this can be regarded as the lowest level of "ahimsa". The rest can be deduced by analogy.
Which country you are born in is a matter after you are guaranteed to obtain a human body. It’s also not “go wherever you want to go.” The same is "following the karma": based on the heavier karma and karma in this life and the past lives. In the bardo, you will meet the most destined parents. Which country your parents are from and whether you are poor or rich are all determined based on your past karma. Some people say: "Reincarnation is a technical job, it depends on how well someone reincarnates!" This sentence is either true or false: on the right side, it does have technical content: from now on, we must pay attention to the five precepts and ten good deeds. In addition, if you want to become rich in the future life, you must practice giving now. If you want to have power, you must fully respect others, not belittle others, serve others, etc. If you want to live a long and healthy life, you have to release animals, donate blood, treat people's diseases, etc. If you want to be beautiful, you must be happy with people and have a kind heart. If you want to have a nice voice, you should speak softly to people, don’t curse, don’t talk about right and wrong... On the wrong side, if you fail to do the above, there will be no possibility of operation. Immediately after death, the bardo body in the form of animals and hungry ghosts will appear. If you want to find your destined parents in the next life, you can only find them among the animals and hungry ghosts. I went looking for them; I couldn't find any human parents at all. At that time, it was as impossible to transform yourself into a bardo body in human form as it is to transform yourself into a lion now.
When you are reincarnated, if you are not satisfied with your destined parents, there will be many bardos with worse karma than yours to replace you, and you have to keep looking. In the process of searching, I became increasingly weak and unsatisfied. After 7 days, the bardo body died, but it didn't matter, it would be resurrected immediately. I continued to search. In this way, I had 7 chances to be resurrected in one day. During the 49 days, I had to choose a certain pair of destined parents at the last moment. This process is the so-called "reincarnation is a technical job" (it is difficult to determine whether the destined parents are good or bad: the one you meet for the first time should be "the one that is most suitable for you based on your conditions"). However, the bardo body is generally very straightforward, not as fussy or as smart as it was during life. Therefore, it is rare to choose until the 49th day. Most of them are reincarnated within the first 7 days. Others say: "You will never be reincarnated." This is impossible, it will take up to 49 days to be reincarnated.
You have a certain right to choose whether you are a boy or a girl: when you are reincarnated, the bardo body will join the love of your parents: if you love your mother instead of your father, you will be a girl in the next life, and vice versa. However, the thoughts and actions of the bardo body at that time are still related to past karma: a certain habit formed in the past life (not just the previous life), and the choice made at that moment (may be a choice that makes one regret) p>
One final point: If you have practiced the Buddha-Nambutsu method in this life, and never forget Amitabha when you die, when the bardo body appears, it will not be a matter of looking for your destined parents. But Amitabha is here to guide you. Reborn in the Western Paradise. There is one situation in which Amitabha cannot come, and that is: "If you slander the Dharma and do not repent in full" (slandering the Dharma exceeds the five evils and ten evils, and is the only serious crime that cannot be saved by Amitabha). In this case, the bardo body will not appear. When you regain consciousness, you will find that you are in hell. Thousands of lives and tribulations, iron beds and copper pillars, thousands of lives and deaths every day, extremely tragic.
