New Zealand immigration policy for studying abroad
Industrial immigrants are another type of business immigrants in New Zealand. Applicants get a three-year work visa, then set up business in New Zealand, and then apply for permanent residence, similar to Australia's 163 visa. The requirements are lower than those of investment immigrants. There is no restriction on the type and scale of business after the applicant arrives in New Zealand, but a detailed plan is needed for the immigration department to review.
New Zealand skilled immigrants implement a scoring system, and the minimum score for submitting a pre-application is 100. In other words, the applicant must get a score of 100 to submit the EOI pre-application, and meet the requirements of health, personality, English (at least 6.5) and age (no more than 55 years old). When you reach 140, you will automatically get an invitation. If there is a letter of appointment from a New Zealand employer, you can get an invitation letter as long as you get 100.
Studying in New Zealand:
1. Secondary school entrance criteria:
Generally speaking, as long as the applicant's secondary education in New Zealand is equivalent to his existing domestic secondary education, New Zealand secondary schools will usually be admitted if the number of places permits.
However, before admission, schools in New Zealand will require the applicant's performance in domestic secondary schools, and some will also require a record of conduct and a letter of recommendation from the teacher.
There are no other entrance requirements, and middle school students can enter school at any time of the year. In addition to helping students arrange accommodation, the school can also arrange local students to provide one-on-one language assistance to new international students to help them adapt to the new learning environment as soon as possible, and some also offer special language classes for international students to strengthen their English.
2. Undergraduate admission criteria:
The English level of international students applying to study in 8 universities and 25 polytechnics in New Zealand must reach IELTS, Academic6.0 or TOEFL 550. Foreign students who fail to meet this standard can attend language classes in universities or off-campus language schools before entering school. The university reserves the right to recruit students while learning the language. Universities in New Zealand have a three-year system, and the first year of university is equivalent to the second year of university in China. High school students can only enter the university after completing the preparatory course of middle school. For foreign students under the age of 20 who have only a domestic high school education, they are required to study for one year in college preparatory course, and preparatory course and language learning can be completed at the same time.
Application materials:
Application form for admission of international students, middle school diploma (if you have completed university studies in China, you need a university diploma), transcripts (including the grading system of courses, grades and credits), and English scores (if any). If you didn't study in school within 12 months before the application, you need to provide proof of your work or activities during this period. The above materials need to be translated into English (e.g. stamped or notarized by the school after translation). For details, please refer to New Zealand's education system.
3. Admission criteria for master students and doctoral students:
To apply for a master's or doctor's degree from a New Zealand university or polytechnic, the applicant must have a bachelor's degree, and the English level must reach IELTS) Academic6.5 or TOEFL) 575. If the applicant's original major is similar to the major he applied for, some universities may lower their requirements for his English scores. Our company can help such applicants negotiate with the schools.
To formally study as a graduate student at New Zealand University, universities generally require students to take a bridge course for about six months to one year, depending on the applicant's academic performance. After the bridge class, you can do research projects. The master's program takes about one to one and a half years to complete, and the doctoral program takes three to five years.
Application materials:
Application form for admission of foreign students, university diploma (such as master's/doctor's diploma of graduate students who have completed their studies in China), report card (including the grading system of courses, grades and credits), recommendation letter (which can be your teacher or employer) and English score. If you didn't study in school within 12 months before the application, you need to provide proof of your work or activities during this period.
