The Historical Evolution of West Lake Management Area

The West Lake Management Area was Zeguo in ancient times and was built here during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. There were large and small dikes 13 in the middle of the Republic of China. At the end of the Republic of China, it belonged to Xinbei Township, Hanshou County. Later, due to flooding, the barriers were broken and there was no administrative establishment.

1In the winter of 954, the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government organized the comprehensive management of Dongting Lake, and the Hunan Provincial Public Security Bureau's Lake Management Reform-through-Labor Corps undertook the engineering task of Xihu District. 1April, 955, it was formally established as a reform-through-labour farm.

1in April, 1969, the establishment of the West Lake Reform-through-Labor Farm was abolished, and it was handed over to the Hunan Garrison to open a military reclamation farm, and the Guangzhou Air Force Command opened the May 7th Cadre School.

1972, the Guangzhou Military Region returned the West Lake Base to the local area according to the spirit of Document No.28 of the Central Committee and the Military Commission (1972). In the same year1October 28th, 10, the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Revolutionary Committee decided to take over the West Lake base area, and 30,000 people (Xinhua County and Anhua County were15,000 people respectively) moved to the West Lake. 300 cadres were transferred from Shaoyang, Yiyang and Changde to start the state-owned West Lake Farm in Hunan Province. At the beginning of the relocation, the whole stadium was divided into six branches: the first branch, the second branch, the third branch, the fourth branch, the fifth branch and the sixth branch. There are also 1 agricultural research institute, 1 aquatic team. In July, 1976, seven new branches were established, which belonged to the former Institute of Agricultural Sciences and the Fisheries Team. 1978 Farm has designated the aquatic team belonging to the Seventh Branch to build the Great West Lake Fishing Ground. 1984 The farm renamed the seventh branch as a horticultural farm. 1February, 985, Xihu Town was established on the basis of the horticultural farm. So far, West Lake Farm has six sub-farms, 1 township and 1 fishing ground.
