In Ya 'an, Xichang and Yunnan, there are many places where Meng Huo built a city.

Zhuge Liang's expedition to Meng Huo in the south is still a hot topic among people in these places. However, only Menghuo Village, Liziping Township, Shimian County at the junction of Ya 'an Shimian and Mianning takes his English name as the place name.

Drive south from Shimian County and walk more than 30 kilometers along Yaxi Expressway. Shortly after I left the Liziping toll station, I saw a towering monument at the left window fork.

At the top of the monument, there is a statue of an eagle spreading its wings. The square under the monument looks like a strong bow with an arrow. This fork road leads to Menghuo in the depth of Tuowu Mountain, which is more than 10 kilometers away.

In the tourist reception center of Menghuocheng Scenic Area, I learned the routes and directions of several major scenic spots and went to Hongshitan first.

Menghuo Hongshitan

Hongshitan is located in a valley named Arrudi River in the scenic spot. As the name implies, the stones on the valley beach are red. When I stood on the beach, in the waves of red stones, I was both excited and shocked, both fresh and curious.

The red stone of this piece of red stone beach winds the endless riverbed, just like a red dragon. It is pure and dazzling red, as if it were painted with a layer of colored pigment by hand. But when I squatted down to look carefully, I found that their surfaces were all wet and hairy. They add a rare bright color to the landscape painting composed of clear water, blue sky and green trees. The beauty of nature is more layered and colorful here.

However, among the local people, there is a tragic story related to Hongshitan.

After Gao Ding, Lv Yong and Zhu Bao were captured and killed by the Shu-Han army during Zhuge Liang's southern expedition, Meng Huo, an indigenous strongman in southern China, gathered their residual strength and launched many attacks on the Shu-Han army. Meng Huo is a great hero of his generation. His wildness is full of pity, recklessness, cunning and faith.

Meng Huo, who had been defeated in many wars, retreated to the depths of Li Ziping's Tuowu Mountain, and thought of thousands of his men who died in the battlefield, he couldn't help crying for days. What flowed out of his eyes was not tears, but deep red blood. His blood and tears stained the stones in the Weidian Valley. Hongshitan embodies Meng Huo's infinite sadness and bears witness to the cruelty of war and the preciousness of peace.

The stones in Hongshitan are red because there is an algae called Choli orange algae growing on their surface. Its cells are rich in astaxanthin, a carotenoid, which can help orange algae resist strong ultraviolet rays at high altitudes and resist low temperature and drought in high mountains. Primary rock is the necessary substrate for its growth, and humid and foggy environment is the necessary condition for its large-scale growth.

Hidden natural fortress

The alpine meadow area of Menghuo city scenic spot is the real location of Menghuo.

When driving through the scenic highway, I saw hills on both sides. Therefore, when a meadow with an area of 4 square kilometers and a slight overall slope appears in front of us, this rare sight in southern Sichuan is another joy.

At the entrance of this vast alpine meadow, a tower with national characteristics stands tall on the site of Menghuo City Gate. It guards the passage to Menghuo City, because both sides of it are insurmountable hills. The wall connecting the towers extends on the mountain, just like the Great Wall of Wan Li.

Climb up the tower and walk slowly along the happy path on the wall. Looking around, it is a 10,000-mu meadow in the city, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the Menghuo River on one side, forming a natural city that is easy to defend but difficult to attack.

From this, I imagine that Meng Huo is stronger than Ma Zhuang. His military strategy is not as superficial as described in romance novels. His fighting spirit is guaranteed by a solid material foundation.

A villager who released his horse in Menghuo village pointed to a few hundred acres of low forest and told me that Zhuge Liang had a gossip array and Menghuo had a maze. Once the enemy is lured into this forest where there is no path and every tree looks the same, Meng Huo's soldiers can destroy these disoriented enemies. The trees in this forest are called "sacred trees", and no one dares to cut them down.

Along the happy path on the wall, I climbed to the highest point of a hill. This is the former beacon tower in Menghuo city, and now stands a log watchtower with a height of 10.

Standing on the lookout, Meng Huo can see everything inside and outside the city. Broad meadows, steep mountains, deep ravines and other landforms, vast virgin forests, deep shrubs and other vegetation, * * * together constitute a fascinating landscape with unusually rich spatial levels.

There are many cattle and horses on the grassland in Monhuo City.

It's early autumn, and the mountains around the meadow haven't presented colorful beauty, but the scattered cattle and horses on the grassland, the wooden houses that smoke and smoke, and the stockade-like barns still make people fully appreciate the rich local customs.

According to the Records of Yunnan, "Shu was founded for three years, Zhuge Liang went south, and when he heard that Meng was conquered by foreigners and Han, he gave orders to make it happen. He said:' Those who make contributions are also powerful. Southerners are no longer rebellious. "The ministries are in peace."

Menghuocheng is adjacent to Liziping National Nature Reserve, which is the release base of wild giant pandas. 10, 20 17 165438, the giant panda "Xue Ying" was successfully released in the nature reserve. In this place where you fought in the past and in today's tourist destination, you may meet a giant panda.

Surprisingly, it actually came! On the morning of April 201August 13 10, a wild panda activity took place in the scenic spot of Menghuo City, Liziping, Shimian County. The scenic spot manager immediately took a live video, and the uninvited guests were clearly visible in the video. Finally, through radio monitoring, it was determined that this giant panda was "Xue Ying".

Is "Xue Ying" patrolling Menghuo City because of its excellent ecology and secret location, or is it called by the gods of Menghuo? The locals say that maybe all these factors are at work at the same time!
