The position of Anhui dialect in the language pedigree

Anhui dialect refers to the dialect used in Anhui province. Anhui province spans the Huaihe River, the Yangtze River and Xin 'anjiang River, and there are great cultural differences between the north and the south. The division and use of dialects in the province are similar to those in neighboring provinces such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Jiangxi. Therefore, Anhui dialect does not have a separate system, and there is no so-called Anhui dialect. Especially in the south of Anhui and the south of the Yangtze River, due to complex geographical factors and historical multi-level immigration impact, it is one of the most diverse and complicated dialects in the southeast of China.

Mandarin areas, including Central Plains Mandarin and Jianghuai Mandarin, can basically communicate with each other, but Gan dialect and Wu dialect in non-Mandarin areas can basically communicate with each other, while Hui dialect has great differences, making it difficult to communicate.

Hefei dialect is the representative of Jianghuai Mandarin in Anhui Province, Fuyang dialect is the representative of Central Plains Mandarin, Huaining dialect is the representative of Gan dialect, Jingxian dialect is the representative of Wu dialect, and Shexian dialect is the representative of Hui dialect.
