Now that Beihai, Gaode, Dijiao and Nan _ are included in Gulizhai (one of the eight villages), Nan _ villagers take Gulizhai as the original village name of Nan, which is the earliest ancestor of the village. As time goes by, more and more people go to Gulizhai to make a living and settle down. People in Nan _ felt that it was no longer appropriate to continue to use Gulizhai as the village name of Nan _, so some educated elders renamed the village. According to the fact that there is a large area of water (sea) in front of the harbor at the southern end of Gulizhai Peninsula, they renamed the village name Gulizhai Nan _. _ Kangxi Dictionary (compiled in 17 16) is interpreted as a flood, which means flood. Since then, Nan has been used as the village name.

The age of Nancun can also be seen from its name. 1974, a repaired fishing boat ran aground in the harbor in front of the temple of Emperor Wu of the South. When people dig sand ditches at the bottom of the boat (when the tide is high, the boat can go out to sea), they find a lot of pearls and shells buried under this beach. At that time, someone bought it, and almost every household in Nancun went to dig it. It is estimated that * * * has100000 Jin, which shows that Nan _ is rich in pearls in history. According to historical records, there is a pearl pond (a sea area where pearls are produced) outside Guantouling. The old man in Nancun said that the official pearl picking in Ming Dynasty was in Bailong, and the folk pearl picking was in the south. A large number of pearl shells found in the south beach are strong evidence of this statement. After the opening of Nanjing, the number of fishing boats from all over the coastal areas of Guangdong increased day by day, and three small commercial streets were gradually built on the shore at the southern end of the port. At that time, the street was called Bu (South _ people called Bu, which means near water; Docks that can stop ships are divided into upper mouth, middle mouth and lower mouth, each of which is only over 100 meters long. Among them, the port in the middle is the most prosperous, with rice shops, grocery stores, cooked food stalls, gambling halls and smoking halls. Every port has some influential shops and bosses. Such as, Li Caixiu, Cai and Liang Yixing; In China, there are Zhan, Han and Zhan Sixing; The next ports are Brizon and Long Yuxing. Most of these companies or bosses drive fishing boats and their business is very prosperous. When the south was prosperous, Beihai Village was inhabited (about 1796), so southerners said that there was Nanjie first, and then Beihai Village. More than 300 years ago, fishing boats in Nancun often sailed to the present Beihai Port for shelter or fishing. Beihai port is located in the north of Nancun, and there is no name when making up. Fishermen call the waters around Beihai Port Beihai. With the passage of time, Beihai is called Beihai for short. Since then, Beihai has become the name of Beihai Port and Beihai City. Therefore, Nanjing people say that the name of Beihai was given by Nanjing people. Although Nan _ has experienced nearly 400 years of vicissitudes, it is still a small village. In the history of Beihai, Nan Village was not only formed before Beihai, but also its ancestors lived on this land after the establishment of Gulizhai, which played a pioneering role in the future formation, development and growth of Beihai.
