Physicist Murray Gell-Mann Resume
Murray Gelman was born in New York in 1929. is a well-known prodigy on the block—thinking he’s the “Walking Encyclopedia.”
In 1955, after completing his postdoctoral research, Gell-Mann had the opportunity to teach at the University of Chicago due to the discovery of "singular numbers", so the best choice was to go to Caltech, "where Feynman was." In this way, Gelman became the youngest tenured professor at Caltech at the age of less than 26.
From Gell-Mann’s discovery of singular numbers to winning the Nobel Prize in Physics, he discovered a new quantum number of elementary particles - singular numbers at the age of 24, and established the V-A that correctly describes the weak interaction at the age of 28. Theory, at the age of 32 he proposed the eight-fold method for classifying hadrons (equivalent to the Mendeleev periodic table of mesons and baryons), at the age of 35 he created the quark model (quark), and at the age of 40 he won the Nobel Prize in Physics. Each of these major theoretical breakthroughs had been independently proposed by others, but Gell-Mann alone had original contributions to all discoveries.
