The difference between permanent residence in EU and permanent residence in countries.

Taking the Netherlands as an example, this paper introduces the difference between permanent residence in the EU and permanent residence in the country, so as to deepen our understanding of permanent residence in the EU. The following is the difference between the permanent residence in the Netherlands, the European Union and the permanent residence in the Netherlands compared by a Dutch law firm.

1. The time for obtaining two permanent residency is different:

The time accumulated for temporary residence in the Netherlands and the European Union is sometimes halved, and sometimes it is not even counted at all. For example, finding a job is not included in the EU's permanent residence period, and students' residence is halved. However, the residence time of temporary and non-temporary residence card holders in the Netherlands is calculated according to the actual time.

2. The main residence requirements are different after the acquisition.

After obtaining permanent residency in the Netherlands, the cardholder's main residence must be in the Netherlands, the address of the Dutch municipal government cannot be broken, and the time to leave the Netherlands cannot exceed 6 months each year. 3. Different treatment of other EU countries

According to EU Directive 2003/ 109, every EU country will have a relatively favorable immigration policy. For example, the Netherlands allows EU permanent residence holders of other member States to obtain residence permits for "non-economic activities" in the Netherlands on the premise that they have assets and sufficient economic resources. In addition, according to the EU Act, after living in another EU country for one year, that country must allow permanent EU holders to work freely. In other words, if you take the EU permanent residence issued by the Netherlands to work in Germany, the German government can ask you to apply for a work permit in Germany in the first year. However, after one year of legal residence, according to EU law, Germany must allow you to work completely freely without a work permit.

4. The procedure of living in other EU countries is different.

If you want to live in Germany, you need to apply for a German Schengen D entry visa at the German Consulate General in Amsterdam. After getting a D visa, you have to go to the local German Foreign Exchange Administration (Ausl_nderbeh_rde) to apply for a residence permit. If you have permanent residency in the Netherlands, you can go directly to the local foreign exchange administration in Germany to apply for a residence permit without going to the German embassy or consulate.

To obtain permanent residency in the EU, one must not only meet the residence requirements stipulated by the EU, but also pass the local language test with a high probability, and may also require a continuous tax payment record. The EU Act is very flexible, and many provisions will be marked according to the domestic laws of EU member states. However, as can be seen from the bill, it is not as simple as obtaining permanent residency in the European Union as advertised by some organizations. In particular, the relatively developed countries in the EU will demand more. Even if the EU permanent residency is granted in some countries with lower requirements, it will not be recognized in first-tier countries or some additional conditions are needed. It is worthy of recognition that permanent residence in the EU still has great advantages over permanent residence in ordinary countries in terms of study and work, and the overall gold content is between passports of EU member States and permanent residence in EU member States.
