That book is Doctor's Tears written by Hong Kong native Huang Xixi.

Huang Xixi (1952-), whose real name is Chenghai, Shantou, Guangdong. Later, his family immigrated to Hong Kong and graduated from Belios College. 1975 received a bachelor of arts degree with honors from the English Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I have been to many countries, studied in Oxford University, Universe University, London and Scotland, and studied film and administration. He also works as a professor in three colleges and universities, and as the executive director of a vocational college, writing in his spare time.

His brother Huang Weiliang has been a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for many years and is also a writer. Now he works in Taiwan Province Province.
