Is it okay not to speak English in Vancouver?

In Vancouver, if you don't know English, it will be very troublesome for you to go to the hospital, go to school, work in an office building or do something in a government agency or police station, because English is the working language in these places.

When Vancouver speaks Chinese, it is limited to Chinese supermarkets, banks with Chinese services (only some banks in Chinese-inhabited areas) and Chinese restaurants (and it is not necessarily Mandarin, but mostly Cantonese). There are still a few family doctors and dentists who can speak Mandarin, but because of the great demand, the patients under the names of these doctors are full, and it is difficult for new immigrants to join.
