Where is Gao Yan Village located?

Gao Yan Village, Laozhou Town is located in the easternmost part of Zongyang County, 3.5 kilometers south of Tongling Yangtze River Bridge, adjacent to PuJiwei Farm in the north, separated from Hongyang Village in the west by a 5-kilometer-long Yangtze River levee, adjacent to the Yangtze River in the east and far from Tongling City. The village covers an area of 3,650 mu, including 980 mu of cultivated land. There are 12 village groups and 7 12 households with a total population of 2400. Located in Wei Village, this village is one of the few places along the Yangtze River to protect Wei, and it is a bright pearl on the 800-mile Wanjiang River.

Due to its unique geographical location, before the completion of Tongling Yangtze River Bridge, Gao Yan Village once had the honor of "fighting for money every day" by virtue of the ferry advantage from Beiling to Tongling. As early as 1980s, Gao Yan Village took the lead in stopping charging villagers all fees except the basic agricultural tax. The completion and opening of Tongling Bridge has completely changed the carefree situation of one ferry and several ferries in Gao Yan Village. 1998 after TEDA flood, Gao Yan village was listed as the object of overall resettlement and urban construction. By the end of last year, 600 households in the village had emigrated, with less than 400 residents in the village, but all the villagers' original houses were still reserved for production.

Gao Yan Village is adjacent to Hongyang Village, Le Tong Village, Xiawei Village, Tao Wei Village, Yuantan Village, Yahe Village, Luodun Village, Yufeng Village, Laozhou Village, Tongxin Village, Tonggui Village, Yuheng Village, Wangtao Village and Yaogang Village.

In April 2020, Gao Yan Village was included in the list of the fifth batch of civilized villages and towns in Anhui Province.
