What is a hair transplant?

Hair transplant refers to moving hair from one place to another. Because different areas of the scalp have different sensitivities to hormones. For example, the forehead and head of male alopecia patients are very sensitive to androgen, which is destructive and will make hair follicles smaller. So normal hair becomes thin and soft, and then healthy hair follicles need to be transplanted from other places. Pillow hair is not sensitive to androgen, so it has healthy and strong hair follicles. Generally, hair transplantation is to take hair from the pillow and transplant it to the forehead or the top of the head. Therefore, you must grow your own hair when transplanting hair, and you can't be arrogant, otherwise your hair will not survive because of the opposite sex. If the injured eyebrows are insufficient, hair can also be transplanted, but the growth cycle of eyebrows and hair is different and needs to be repaired frequently.

Postoperative maintenance

1. Due to the application of anesthetic drugs during operation, nausea, vomiting, fatigue and other discomfort may occur, so you should rest more.

2. Use a taller pillow when sleeping (2-3 times as much as usual).

3. Remember and follow the doctor's advice after operation to ensure smooth recovery and reduce postoperative discomfort.

4. Do not exercise within 5 days after operation, avoid strenuous exercise within 3 weeks, and pay attention to protecting the operation area.

5. Go back to the hospital for dressing change the next day after operation.

6. Do not wash your hair within 4 days after the operation. On the fifth day, you can wash your hair with mild shampoo and gently rub the hair transplant part.

7. Wear a wig for at least 7 days after the operation.

8. After the operation, scab skin will appear at the hair transplant site, which cannot be removed, and it will fall off naturally (7- 10 days after the operation).

9. 7- 10 days after operation, the incision of occipital donor site was removed.

Complications will occur in any operation. Compared with other operations, there are fewer complications after hair transplantation, and even if there are complications, they are easy to deal with and rarely affect the surgical effect. Hair transplantation has the following complications:

1. oozing blood: local oozing blood during and after operation is normal, and compression hemostasis or hemostatic drugs can be used appropriately. Patients should not take drugs such as promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis one week before operation;

2. Infection: follow the principle of aseptic operation during operation, and use antibiotics after operation, and basically no infection will occur;

3. postoperative swelling: there will be slight edema in the postoperative operation area, which can generally be recovered within one week without special treatment;

4. Endogenous hair reacts with foreign bodies: the reason is that useless hair follicles are not completely removed during the preparation of hair embryos, which leads to the forced growth of hair to subcutaneous tissue and stimulates the formation of foreign body reaction. What is important is prevention;

5. Epidermal cyst;

6. Hair loss caused by transient surgery, also known as late hair loss;

7. Scar hair transplantation will not leave obvious scars, but it will leave linear scars in the pillow donor area, which is not obvious when covered with hair;

8. If the operating area feels dull or numb, it can generally recover itself;

9. The transplanted hair is partially necrotic.
