Can’t international students currently in the UK stay and work in the UK after graduation?
Stay in the UK
If you plan to stay and work in the UK in the future, it will be more difficult after the new policy is introduced in April this year.
According to the British Higher Education Careers Services Unit (Higher Education Careers Services Unit), if international students who graduated after 2011 want to stay and work in the UK, the employer must provide proof that the position is incompetent for British residents when signing the contract. , only international students can be invited to take up this position.
According to Steven Schwartz, director of the British Universities and Colleges Evaluation Committee, currently, the industries in short supply in the UK are nurses, primary and secondary school teachers and engineers; disciplines with long-term high employment rates include architecture, law and engineering still maintain high employment rates ; The industry that attracts more college graduates is the health care industry, and the industries that attract more graduates are media research, marketing, sales, advertising, business and finance. Among them, the employment rate of media studies graduates is relatively high, reaching 71%. The IT industry is also recovering. The proportion of IT graduates who have not found a job six months later has dropped significantly from 14.6% to 10.7%. In contrast, the number of graduates entering science fields fell by 0.1% to only 1.1%. In addition, people with a background in traditional Chinese medicine can easily find jobs and obtain permanent residency. There is also a very advantageous situation: students who have obtained a bachelor's degree in one year can be exempted from 6-7 ACCA (UK Certified Public Accountant) exams, and students who have completed a one-year master's program and obtained a master's degree can be exempted from 4- 5 ACCA exams. It is very easy for students who graduate from accounting majors, especially those with ACCA certificates, to find jobs and immigrate in the UK and around the world.
Returning to China
Industry insiders introduced China’s current development situation and the government’s specific policies to encourage overseas students to return to China to start businesses. He said that some foreign media reports that "returnees" are not popular in China are not consistent with the facts. The talent gap in the country is still serious, and the government's policy of encouraging all types of overseas students to return home has not changed. He said that after China joins the World Trade Organization, it will need a large number of talents who are familiar with foreign situations. He hopes that overseas students will seize the opportunity to develop domestically and contribute their talents to the bright future of the country and nation.
Relevant countries have special policies for people who have returned from studying abroad:
1. Overseas students who have obtained a bachelor’s degree or above abroad can enjoy preferential policies for cross-regional dispatch and settlement.
2. Overseas students who have studied abroad for more than one year can also purchase a duty-free car through customs when they return to work in their country.
3. It is more convenient to get a job after studying abroad. Even applying for immigration is very simple. As long as you hold a British degree and find a suitable job locally, it is very convenient to immigrate. There is not much difference compared with students studying locally.
